The São Paulo Pigeon

The explosion of Paulicéia. Beyond its millions of human inhabitants, São Paulo is also home to thousands of birds — 506 species, to be exact — among them, the humble pigeon.

Pigeons live lives deeply intertwined with ours: they walk along human streets, take shelter in man-made architecture, and feed on human leftovers. Anyone paying close attention will notice they’re always in a hurry — just like a true Paulistano.

With ambiguous beauty, puffed chests, and an elegant mix of gray feathers and greenish-white iridescent patches on their necks, pigeons served as the main inspiration for this piece.
