Josephine Baker was, all at once, an actress, singer, dancer, activist, and spy.
Above all, she was one of the first Black stars of the performing arts, enchanting the stages and balls of Paris in the wild 1920s.
During this time of cultural and social upheaval — which also resonated in São Paulo — Josephine transcended the stage and became the muse of a generation.
It is no coincidence that she appears in the collection “Crazy 2020s.” This piece is inspired by her countless costumes.
